The Pacific Northwest is one of the most beautiful and intriguing areas in the world, with pristine landscapes, dynamic cities, and a fascinating history. Explorers, reporters, historians and authors have been writing about it since Meriwether Lewis and William Clark reported to President Thomas Jefferson on their 1804-06 journey to the mouth of the Columbia River. The purpose of this website is to make some of that writing–both past and present–better known.
